Yu.I. Kuznetsov

Yuri Igorevich Kuznetsov is a leader of a research area at A.N.Frumkin Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Sciences, Professor.

Yu.I. Kuznetsov graduated from the Novocherkassk polytechnical institute. He has been employed at А.N.Frumkin Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry from 1965 till the present time. He defended his Ph.D. thesis in 1974 and his doctoral thesis in 1984. He obtained the Professor title in 1991. He has been working as Head of Laboratory since 1981, as Deputy Director of the Institute since 2002,  and as a leader of a research area since 2015 till the present time. In 1981 Yu.I. Kuznetsov  was awarded a Diploma for Outstanding Contributions made in the  Field of Corrosion Inhibition Science from Louisiana State University and University of New Orleans. In 2012 he was a winner of Cavallaro medal that is awarded every two years under the auspices of the European Federation of Corrosion.He repeatedly obtained medals of the Exhibition of Economic Achievements in Russia. He has published 400 scientific works, including the books “Organic inhibitors of corrosion of metals”, 1996, N.-Y. Plenum Press, and ten other reviews.  He is an author of 70 inventions. He is an Editorial Board member of the journals “Korroziya: materialy, zashchita” (“Corrosion: metals, protection”, in Russian) and “Protection of Metals and Physical Chemistry of Surfaces”.

Yu.I. Kuznetsov is an expert in corrosion and corrosion protection, including protection of metals by corrosion inhibitors.
