Abstract: The aging of green inhibitors has not been frequently studied to date. This paper examined the aging of two inhibitors obtained from the peel extract of Musa paradisiaca (CMP) (plantain) and the leaf extract of Tradescantia spathacea (HTS) (purple agave). The aging of both extracts was evaluated in samples after 7, 11, and 21 months of storage. The composition of these samples was characterized by retention time in using gas chromatography GC instrument. Significant changes in the composition of both extracts were detected over time. Inhibitory efficiency (η) was assessed using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). For CMP, efficiency decreased compared to the value of the fresh extract (76%). A decrease in efficiency with time of storage was observed: 2% after 7 months; 15% after 11 months, and 22% after 21 months. For HTS, efficiency also decreased compared to the fresh extract (91%); 2% after 7 months, 7% after 11 months and 10% after 21 months. The results show that compounds formed during storage for up to 7 months retain their inhibitory properties. For CMP, efficiency decreased from 76% to 54% after 21 months, and for HTS, it decreased from 91% to 81% after 21 months. It is highly likely that most of the molecules present in the extracts exhibit inhibitory properties, as do those formed during storage. The practical use of these two extracts as green corrosion inhibitors is very feasible due to their good efficacy.
