Abstract: The science of corrosion inhibitors suffered a severe loss: Professor Giordano Trabanelli passed away. He was not only an outstanding scientist, but also a permanent inspirer and organizer of Ferrara Congresses that for half a century have been the European and worldwide center of scientific thought in this area of anticorrosion protection. These Congresses were conducted at an utmost scientific and organizational level and, at the same time, were amazingly friendly. All their participants felt welcome guests of Prof. Trabanelli and his team. The Editorial Board of our journal, on behalf of all its contributors and readers, would like to express their sincere condolences to our Italian friends and to the family of Prof. Trabanelli. The cherished memory about Professor Trabanelli, a remarkable person and scientist, will help us continue the consolidation of inhibitory protection experts that he initiated.
