The technique is based on the two-stage plasma-electrolytic treatment of this alloy: a porous coating with non-uniform thickness is obtained at the first stage, while at the second stage a large number of through pores of the coating are closed with inclusion of cobalt-containing compounds. It has been found that in order to preserve the texture of granite crumbs of the coating, plasma-electrolytic oxidizing (PEO) should be carried out until the sample size and coating thickness cease to grow. At a long duration of PEO of samples from AD31T1 alloy, the color of the coating tends to black. Electrochemical tests show a high anticorrosive capability of coatings with granite crumb texture. Coatings with granite crumb texture on samples from AD31T1 demonstrate a high wear resistance.
